Today was another fantastic day!! I know it sounds corny, but it is just getting better each day and nothing is ever the same!
After breaky we decided to take a drive to north vrilya point to have a look at the ship wreck on the beach, an old lighthouse ship. Before we even got going Marty noticed dripping comjng from Rod back of thd toyota, on further inspection it was reveiled that it was diesel leaking from the fuel tank! It must have been leaking for a while as the ling range tank had drained a quarter of a tank and he only filled it 20kms ago. Marty and Rod took to fixing it while Angie, boo and l went for a walk (which Boo winged most of the way as didn't know it would be so far!). We saw the boys driving up the beach and Rod stated that he repaired the hole with a tec screw and the tip of a rubber glove! Bush mechanics eat your heart out!
Anyway, we piled in the car and made our way to the wrecks. It was pretty cool and felt like we were back at Moreton Island driving on the beach up to the wreck. Still was amazing and can't believe how spectacular they look with this vibrant rust orange color against the blue ocean. We took some pics then Angie and Rod had a wrestle in the ocean!
We turned around and headed back to camp and then Rod stopped the car and announced to us on the UHF, "look there's sone dolphins!". We halted quickly and jumped out of the Nissan to see three dolphins swimming about 5 meters out, amazing! After watching them for a while we got back in the car and only got a few hundred meters when we saw a fin out of the water, on closer inspection Angie and Rod thought it was a tiger shark, looked around 3meters long! We all stood in awe, completely amazed at what we were viewing. Had completed our cape trip, the marine life has certainly put a show on for us!! We then saw a huge sting ray and some reef sharks, and s huge crab a few meters from shore. Bloody Angie, which l reckon she is the female version of Bear Giles, grabbed two large sticks and tried to push it back into shore. Couldn't do but god she tries everything and anything! Lol.
We got back to camp totally amazed at what we had just witnessed and were all buzzed!
After lunch the rest of the day was spent relaxing by the beach. I read, Marty tinkered with the car trying to find the rattle noise and the girls swam.
We had the usual night of sitting around the camp fire and checking the foreshore for crocs and sharks, nothing this time....
So am really starting to want a shower, swimming in salt water isn't cutting it! The hair is feeling very on need of a treatment, or just a wash would be good! At least the girls are clean, no dirt here just sand, hip hip hooray!!
Havent had reception for a while and miss catching up with everyone, miss you all and promise to check in when we get the chance. Also miss Harvey, after spending time with the honeymooners dog, Boris, really miss him even more, especially seeing the girls swamp around him so much...oh well that's the price hey......
