Got out of bed around 6:15am after a night of restless sleep die to the trucks going by!!! Also Boo needed to go to the toilet at 3:30am, so we are all a bit weary but hopefully the next rest stop is off the road a bit. Today we said farewell to Hervey Bay and set off to head to our destination of Yaamba. We were packed up and headed off at 9:00am (still can't crack this start). Our first pit stop was Bundaberg. It was a beautiful trip with fields of sugar cane and the trains. We headed to the Bundaberg Rum Distillary to have a geese. Today is our last day at Hervey Bay!!! We ended up extending our stay for a couple of days just because the caravan park and Hervey Bay are so relaxing, plus we wanted to try catch some more fish!!! The last few days have been uneventful. We have done our chores and Boo's schooling in the morning then headed down the beach, either for a swim or fish in the arvo after lunch. Our highlight for today was whale watching on the Tasman Ventures tour boat. We headed off for our half day tour departing from the Hervey Bay Warfe at 8:30am and arrived back at 1pm. The boat trip out wasnt too bad, not too choppy. Within 30 mins from departing we saw our first lot of humpback whales frolicking in the ocean just off Fraser Island. It was amazing!!! Well as you can see we did a bit of fishing today!!! We hung around the caravan park and caught up on Boo's school until lunchtime. Then after lunch we headed down to the beach with our sand worms to do some fishing. I had my doubts after our attempts in Noosa, but no sooner had Marty cast out that he had a small whiting on the end reeling it in. He was so stoked to have caught a fish so quick and it lifted all our spirits that we might catch something. Next min...
