Yay, Meg is such a big girl, she slept through the night without any accidents. Bye bye nappies, hello big girl all grown up......
Today was all about washing! I got the last seven days of dirty clothes, the towels and sleeping bags and took them down to the creek. After a few hours they were all washed, with the help from Angie (god l love this woman!). Marty also drove the Nissan down into the creek and him and the girls washed it until we didn't recognize it, being so clean and all (lol). Everyone was doing their cleaning with Angie doing their clothes and Rod doing their floor mats. It was a great morning spent and at the end all our skin was motley and fingernails rid of dirt.
We made a loaf of bread and cooked it in the campoven for lunch. It was so delicious, wa with butter and jam.. We also made some extra dough for pizza that night.
The girls had a great time with Angie, she painted their nails and did face painting with them by the creek with rock paints. After lunch we swam in the creek and lazed about until in the early arvo the clouds in the sky became dark. We rushed about getting all the washing and sleeping bags off our made clothesline before we heard the thunder. Lightening came next and then the rain pelted down. Meg got a little scared of the thunder but then started to enjoy being in rain. We all headed off down to the creek and had a swim in the rain, the water looked amazing splahing up on the water. The rain drops were big and it was pouring down and the rain was so hard it was hurting our backs and faces a bit. The creek was flowing faster and there was water draining off from the banks quite quick. It was time to head to the tent to get changed into done dry clothes as the rain didn't look like it was easing up anytime soon. We got changed and had a game of Boo's scrabble together, and then the girls had a wrestle. My head was starting to hurt when the rain eased and we all got out to assess what got wet. It wasn't too bad, just a few chairs and had to restart the campfire.
We made pizzas for tea, and again Angie outdone herself. Rod tried to cook mine and his in the camp oven, chargrilled pizza was the result, but it was still good. When the girls went to bed Angie, Rod, Marty and l had a great chat as always with some really good advice given to us. Its like we have known these guys forever and it is do comfortable and fun. Hopefully we will be able to implement the advice given to us with the girls. One thing for this trip was to become a calmer family and get to know each other again. We are certainly achieving this to some extent but as always is still a work in progress. Over the last few weeks it feels as if Marty and l have reconnected even more are having such a great time together, fun times are being had lol!!!!!!
