Well what a quick and busy week. Marty finished up on Friday and l just finished today, our time in Darwin is over!! We're off to Bali tomorrow!! It couldn't have come around any quicker, bloody hell it's heating up here. The humidity is really starting to increase, hope it's not this bad in Bali..
This week l had an unexpected pleasure of catching up with Katie and her beautiful family. They've just finished the west coast and are heading back to Vic over the next few months. Can't believe they've been traveling around Oz in a camper trailer with four kids, one bring only 1 year old! Don't Think l could do it personally, hats off to them, great job. Was great to sit down over a beer and a snag and catch up on their travels and get fond ideas for when we get there. So good to see another familiar face!
The week consisted of packing up as much as l could before final pack up day tomorrow and getting our stuff organized for Bali. So excited! Can't believe it's here already, that by the end of tomorrow we will be in another country, Hope my expectations aren't too high and Marty enjoys it?! Think he's slowly getting excited, especially now that we leave tomorrow.
It's also been a lovely week of the girls playing with Ella and Maya, our next door neighbors for the last three months. It's funny that we didn't hang out much at the start but have found some common ground over time and slowly got to know one another. The girls have been practicing a dance routine every night after the Chapman girls got hone from school. Tonight they did the big show. I got home from work and was given my homemade ticket that they had made which had the time and date if performance. Just before dinner, Kath, Anthony, Marty and l got our chairs and drinks ready and the show began. Ella and Boo opened the show with a joint dance whilst Maya was the DJ, she even had the earphones for looks! They performed did three dances, totally choreographed and even with costume changes!! It was brilliant! I was so proud of them all, it was terrific. I think l was really excited because, for me, this was like Boo's end of year concert. Meg did such a great job keeping up with the dance moves and l was astounded at how she knew her queues. Great end to our time in Darwin. A terrific last memory of our stay.
Our time in Darwin, like our other work stops, has been amazing. I am so grateful to be meeting all these wonderful families and having cherished moments with them. I am only sad that FreeSpirit itself left a bad taste in my mouth. It's such a pity because it's a wonderful park, of only the office got themselves sorted and put on a happy face focused on customer surface!! Oh well, lessons learnt l guess, won't stay here again that's for sure.
Now for the next step on our journey, a personal achievement for me, going overseas. Can't wait to get the first international trip out of the way to get rid of the bugs in my tummy. Fingers crossed it all goes smooth.....and l can sleep tonight!!! Lol...
