After a great night sleep we all woke up refreshed and ready for a brilliant day together. After bacon and eggs for breaky we all headed over to say goodbye to our great mates, the Perkins. They were heading off on the road again after three months here in Darwin. Got a bit teary as always when saying farewell to our traveling mates, but l know it won't be last we see them. Another family that are our mates for life! After a long goodbye we got ready to head into Darwin for the day. Nikki and l caught the bus as we couldn't all fit into the car together. Was so nice for us to catch up alone, without any interruptions. It's so great to have a sister in law that l get along with so well. After our half hour trip in with no kids hassling us, we arrived at Crocosaurus Cove with the girls excitedly awaiting our arrival. It was pretty reasonable entry fee of around $80 for the family. We ended up having such an amazing time here, it was fantastic! We fed baby crocs with fishing rods, which Boo and Meg enjoyed so much! We got to see the crocs in an aquarium style setting, not just in concrete tanks. We could see how they lie vertical in the water with their nose poking up, so scary to see how they can sit and wait for someone in the water, so still. There was an amazing reptile exhibition, probably one of the best we've ever seen. The reptiles were all so active and awake, the girls loved finding them in there glass tanks. It was so hot outside, so the coolness of the reptile place was a great relief for a while. After lunch we went for photos with a baby croc. The girls loved it, their faces were hilarious. We had a group photo together and the end products were so funny. The first one we got was a nice serious shot, then the second one we had to do a scary face. Marty's was the best, hilarious. We also finally got to see some turtles, which l totally love. Whilst having a drink, Boof and the girls saw some backpackers playing a big version of J. Was so fun as Boof got competitive while the backpacker bloke was just happy to have some fun. It went on for about 20mins and the bloke ended up giving Boo $20 for some reason, we tried to give it back but he wouldn't take it. Some people are very giving in this world were finding. Our day sadly was getting away from us and we had to head off. But let me just say the way this place is presented is amazing, and we ended up spending a good five hours there.
We were so hot so thought that with the backpackers money we would treat ourselves to an icecream, from Cold Rock naturally! Love this place, the crushed caromello koala was a great choice that l copied off Boof. We has to wait for Belinda and Dale to pick us up so we found a pub close by and had a beer. Once Billy and Dale arrived with Soul we headed off to Mindle Markets for dinner. It would sadly be our last time at the markets l think, so we made the most of it and had some great food. I tried the Indian this time, delicious! We all say around on the blankets and checked out Mick the whip bloke, which Boof and Nikki brought the girls a whip for a surprise tomorrow. We also got to watch the didgeridoo bloke again, the girls and l went up front but the local aboriginal mob got a bit pushy and were doing all this grinding dance moves which l reckon the girls didn't need to see so we left. It had been baby Souls first bday last week so Billy had saved some cake and brought it along for a little extended party. The cake was amazing! It was Hootabell, off the Giggle and Hoot show, and it tasted delicious!! After the girls had done such a great effort at their cash a can, they had saved their money dot a cowgirl hat and ring each, so we're very eager to go and buy them. They looked so cute! As we watched a mediocre sunset it was time to head off home. Bulky and Dale are so fantastic, they drove Nikki home for us.
What a fantastic day had, so glad we waited to do Crocosaurus Cove with Boof and Nik. Then to finish with relaxing at Mindle Beach was a great way to end a great day!! Love having Boof and Nik around, her belly is too cute! Girls are having a ball with them too.....
