Day 47. Glenwood Springs.
We started off the day by topping up the oil in Jane's bike as it had dropped below the minimum level. Unfortunately the oil we used refused to mix with the synthetic stuff that was in the bike and you could see the resulting froth through the sight glass. Rather than risk a blown engine we managed to find a good motorbike shop that agreed to do a full oil and filter change on the spot. They also had some decent motorbike boots for Mark to replace his broken ones so that was a bonus. We were back on our way by 12:00 and arrived at Glenwood Springs in time for a relax in the hot springs here (biggest in the world at over 1M gallons). We have also been up in the cable car to see one of the local bands. There was a promotion on that if you donated a can of food the cable car operators would waive the normal 16 dollar per person charge for a return trip to the mountain. We bought 2 cans for 6 dollars so that saved us a fair bit! Looking forwards to another 200 miles tomorrow towards Estes Park on the twisty mountain roads!
