Day 51. Estes Park, Colorado.
It was an early start today and cold as well. 07:00 out the door and it was 4 degrees on the motorbikes. It was worth it though because we got to Bear Lake (3100m above sea level) before the crowds and set off on our epic walk. 30000+ steps, 9 miles and a good 700 meters of climbing and descending (mostly descending!). As the day progressed it got a lot warmer and in the end it was t shirt weather again and 20 degrees in the sunshine. Got another good look at the Elk Rut taking place lower down and saw one of the big bulls charge one of the smaller ones. The little one didn't stick around for the fight and ran like the wind!

We are leaving Estes Park tomorrow and the plan is to make as much distance towards Yellowstone as we can before the cold weather and snow reach us.
