Like Lewis and Clark, we have finally made our passage west to the Pacific! Rolled on into San Diego and dropped the car off at about midday. Took a wander about downtown and Gaslamp Quarter before checking into our hotel which has the most incredible views across the city. The temperature was now a pleasant 80• with a sea breeze from the ocean. Had a fairly lazy afternoon, then went for a Chinese and off the check out the nightlife. Delighted to be ID'ed several times on the eve of my 36th birthday. Gaslamp Quarter was great and bustling, even on a Monday night. Later a man tried to sell me a tiny tiny black and tan chihuahua that fitted right in the palm of my hand. Very tempted but fortunately had not had that many margaritas so common sense took over and I declined.
