Had a minor tech disaster: my i-pod has decided to stop working so I'm writing this from the hotel's computer. Well another day another town. Headed east from Madison to Milwaukee on the shores of Lake Michigan. It should have been a fairly straightforward 90 mile journey. However they are currently digging up much of Wisconsin so we hit several diversions. Then when we hit Milwaukee it turned out the State Fair was on so the traffic was a bit crazy. Unders...

Lots of good stuff today. Temps down to mid 80s - good for the bike. Saw the Mississippi river for the final time in this trip (Memphis, Arkansas, New Orleans, St Louis, Davenport) at Dubuque, Iowa. Entered into state number 18 on the trip. This time Wisconsin, the dairy state, famed for CHEESE!!! As well as Harley Davidsons and breweries a-plenty. Lots of lovely farm countryside to ride through on the way to state capital, Madison. Now until about two days...
