Welcome to Hollywood! Left Long Beach and took the metro to centre of Los Angeles passing through some choice neighbourhoods (Compton, Inglewood...). Surfaced right on Hollywood Boulevard, packed with tourists and assorted oddballs. Found our way to the Saharan Motor Inn, a retro motel on Sunset and checked in. Soon realised the place was not in the bit of Sunset that is super-cool but with a smattering of weirdos and loons, or day-walkers as Mark calls them.
Still, went for a walk along to the Guitar Centre where all the legends of rock have immortalised their prints in concrete. Then wandered down to Santa Monica Boulevard to look at some bike shops. Have come to realise that distances in LA are maaasssiivve and it's not a town to walk far in. Went up to the Sunset Grill for dinner which is not as cool and grungy as it sounds but does a mean plate of spaghetti. Later wandered along Sunset to look at the Chateau Marmont and various other sites if celebrity debauchery!
