Where are the days that I had actually time to write a proper blog every night without hurting eyes? Sorry that i didn't make it last night, it's tough to keep it up here. I know, onlly few days left and th to en I return to my own country.... :/
However, yesterday was the day we went with our group in the bus from Port Campbell to Melbourne later on the day. As usual, we made several stops along the way, including the Otway treetop walk, i was a bit disappointed with this rainforest, and with the walk through it. I guess I had a tropical rainforest in mind, the ones you need a guide with you to help you through the wild. This one was like a normal forest at home, but with higher trees and bigger plants maybe. And we didn't really walk in the treetops, but maybe 30 meter above the ground. Still disappointing to me. But the smell in the forest was nice, it was cool there and we had a lot of fun with the people of the group.
At 11.30 we went back in the bus, because our lunchbreak would be in Apollo bay, one of the towns at the coast. This was nice, 50 minutes to get lunch and enjoy the beach there. It was just a small beach, but hey, on a hot day like it was, every beach is nice. :) Not much time to enjoy it though, there was more to explore this thursday evening.
Like spotting koalas, and I am happy we did spot a few indeed! They are so cute when you see them sleeping. We had a good laugh when Woodie, oour tourguide, tried to imitate the sound that a koala makes when he's angry. Something between a dog and a pig it was.
We made one more stop at a big road sign that marks the beginning of the 243 kilometers great ocen road. Well not ofically because it really begins in the town of Torquay, a coastal town that refers to itself als the sufers capital.Oh well, we didn't get to see the beach there, bells beach, but we went to a lighthouse instead, a beautiful white one, overlooking the ocean.
This was the place where we took group pictures on several camera's before headnig for 2 hours in the bus to Melbourne. Perfect for a little nap, some reading or tryiing to catch up with the travel diary. I was glad when we were in Melbourne, to check in the hostel there. And guess what, it's very close to the Crown Casino, the entertainment complex with hotels, casino, cinemas, restaurants and nightclubs. Not bad at all ;) I hang out with a new friend in the evening, to end another full day in Australia. The riesling is very good there. :))
