Day 53/54 - Melbourne/Middle of nowhere/Sydney

Well today we say goodbye to Dandy and Melbourne as we're heading up to Sydney tonight. Nothing much planned for today excep a lie in and lazing about watching tele. We watched Frankie Boyle and some Entourage before i have to do the packing of the bags. After we're done Jason runs us to Oakleigh station and we say our goodbyes to him and Louise they made us very welcome and we thank them a lot for letting us crash at their gaff and showing us all around oz, cheers guys.
The train from Oakleigh takes about half hour and we arrive as planned at Southern cross station however when we get there we find our train to Sydney has been cancelled and replaced with a coach (argh!) we're told it will take about the same time however i'm not liking the thought of the leg room/no on board bar etc.

Anyways we have no other choice so we grab a sarnie jump aboard and start the monsterous 11 hour coach trip across South East Oz. we leave at 8pm and aren't going to arrive till about 7am ish. The leg room wasn't as bad as i expected however the seats aren't made for sleeping in if you're over 6foot! we ended up nodding off for an hour or 2 but not great sleep. Spent most of the time on the laptop messing with the pics and writing the blog then rinsed my iphone battery playing games. We had a couple pit stops so chance to stretch our legs and get food (eating a steak pie at 1am in the middle of a car park surrounded by rocks and desert was a bit weird) and then it started to get light.

I think we're starting to get used to this travelling lark as it didn't seem like 11 hours so hopefully the rest of the travelling won't be as tiring, maybe we're just getting more chilled out who knows.

As we arrive in Syndey at about 7:30am it's just about rush hour and lots of people rushing around heading to work and most shops are just opening however our hostel didn't open till about 8:30am so with an hour to kill we head to a coffee shop for a snack and drink and to try wake up a little bit.
When we check in the room was being cleaned so we head out to the post office to grab a big box as we have to send all our warm stuff (hoodies etc) home as from Thursday we won't be needing them :) We headed back to the room to chill out and have a nap to catch up on some well deserved afternoon sleep before heading downstairs to the bar for tea. Still a bit sleepy we decide to get an early night and head to bed to watch TV and catch some zzzzz's.
