Day 47 - Dandenong/Ramsay Street
Today our Visas are ready (yay) so Jason drives us back to Kilda to pick them up, all goes smoothly and we're soon deciding what to do for the rest of the day. As Louise has never seen Ramsay street since she arrived in Oz and we obviously hadn't seen it either we headed on down to see Karl Kennedy and Harold Bishop etc. I was a little surprised when we arrived to see its actualy very small in real life, just a couple of houses on 1 small culdesac. There were quite a few tourists at the entrance as a tour bus had just turned up however there was filming going on so we couldnt actualy go onto the street till it finished (They film outside real peoples houses and pay the owners for letting them do it) If you watch neighbours and see Karl Kennedy in a red shirt on the street we were there that day :)
After the street we went Bowling (I won) and we got to see Lou's strong bowling arm in action i've never seen anybody throw a ball harder than she can way too much power for a little thing! Rhona again wanted the rails up and opted for the smallest kids ball they had.
For tea we headed to Outback Jacks which is an Aussie themed restaurant (Big croc hanging from the ceiling, pics of Kangaroos and koalas on the wall how Aussie can you get?!) I notice on the menu they do Kangaroo & Crocodile, i ask Louise what it's like and she convinces me to get it as a starter and she'll share. It arrives on skewers (3 croc & 3 roo) with a smokey tomoto relish type sauce and i tuck in. Kangaroo is a bit like tough steak, juicy but touch. Croc is a bit of a cross between chicken and fish its the same texture as chicken with a slightly salty taste but both are nice and i'd defo eat it again. Rhona didn't like the idea of eating Skippy or his croc friend so she chickened out and didn't try anything and instead stuck with a beef burger (It's ok if she eats cow but not a roo or croc!).
Lou and Jay had mentioned the needed new steak knives and as the girls had had a few drinks they decided it would be a good idea to pinch the ones on the surrounding tables, like true thieves they did this without the staff noticing and were soon out the door with the swag! (You can take the girls out of Manchester but you can't take Manchester out the girls!)
After we arrive home we're all full up and sleepy so we chill out and watch a bit of family guy with a bevy before calling it a night.
