Good and bad news - At the end of this week, over the weekend and at the start of next week I am going to see two more areas of Cambodia, which means I am not going to the wedding. So all that effort at the market was to no avail, mind you it was fun and I have a lovely skirt that fits me really well. So to compensate, and celebrate, I decided I would give Sidney a bit of a run and went out to the Bamboo restaurant for coffee. When I was there I decided I may as well have something to eat so ordered fried vegetables and rice - delicious.
Just as I finished I heard someone call my name, there were the girls from the office who had come out to celebrate Chan Vy's birthday, they invited me to join them - what could I say. We went down to the pool area which is lovely - I will be using it often if I ever have a weekend in Pailin - and after a few selfies we settled down to eat another delicious meal.
Started with rice and /or noodles. They then made the main course in a large pot over a gas ring in the middle of the table, it was basically a soup to which they added rich pancakes, noddles, vegetables and meat. I have to say it was one of the best things I have had so far. (it would have been even better if I hadn't already eaten!!)
Just before we started eating I saw two of the waitresses looking at me and a piece of paper - I knew it was my bill for the meal before so I got up and went over. The girls all shouted at me I was not to pay but the waitress who had obviously worked out what was happening, said it was for my coffee. We turned our backs on the girls and I paid for my first meal. I saw her as I was leaving and she just laughed.
I now have the names of the girls who work in the office and all I have to do is remember which name (all but one starts with s) belongs to which girl!! You know it is that kind of thing that is actually the most important and most difficult for me. I can work, travel around, feed myself, buy things for the house and survive (all without speaking Khmer) but remembering names has never been one of my strengths.

Nancy Shame about the wedding but the birthday party sounds fun. We need a photo of you in the skirt!
