Our last day at Atherton was spent visiting Herbeton - an old tin ore mining town with four museums. We did a mine walk and saw some of the old mining sheds and shafts, we also visited the camera museum - there were cameras over 100 years old that were still producing pictures - things were definately made to last in those days. We then went to Mt Hypipamee to see the volcanic crater (its 60 metres high and 62 metres wide - above ground level -alot more is below ground and not visible) - amazing thing to see. We also went to Ravenshoe - the highest town in Qld. On the way we stopped at the wind farm aptly named Windy Hill. We had a drink at the Tully Falls Hotel at Ravenshoe which is the highest pub in Qld. We also saw some more waterfalls today: Dinner falls, Little Millstream falls and Millstream falls which are apparently the widest falls in Australia. Tomorrow we head to Chillagoe.
