Today was a rest day though we have been following some kangaroo car bash rally and although we had hoped for a sleep in their 30 car convoy was up early and playing their 'trip song' .... Rolling rolling rolling ....
We went out and about to have a look at a couple of waterfalls that all information about Cape York says are a must do.
On the way we came across Sheldon Lagoon which is also known as the turtle lagoon and we saw a couple of turtles!
Fruit Bat Falls were quite nice plus we got to swim!! The falls were like a shower/cross massager - all felt very clean afterwards. The kids enjoyed jumping over the waterfall into the lagoon.
We then went to Eliot Falls and Twin Falls both were nice however no swimming due to crocodiles (also known as handbags).
On the way back the Bray family stopped to feed the turtles at the lagoon and we got back to camp to find Carl and Julieanne had made it - was a great surprise and a great way to end the day.
Adam and Kandi cooked their camp oven chicken pie and Julieanne made her chocolate pudding (I did some QA on the chocolate). Both yummy!
Tomorrow the northern half of the OTL starts.........
