Yesterday we left Carnarvon/Takarakka and headed south east to Toowoomba. Passing through the towns of Injune (in august), Roma, Miles, Chinchilla and Dalby. All pretty little country towns. Josh and I have spent the past three days at Takarakka Bush Resort. Camping at Carnarvon Gorge itself is only available in Qld school holidays however Takarakka is only a 4km drive. Today we went to the Iningai Nature Reserve. It's located on the outskirts of Longreach. We did the Coolibah walking track. Was a nice walk that took you around the gin gin river. Afterwards we went to the Longreach markets. Lots of tea cosies and scones - good to see the CWA is going strong is outback Qld. We then headed east from Longreach to Ilsfricombe. Today we woke up to the distinct noise of Brolgas. There's a few that have made the caravan park their home. The caravan park is massive with lots of sites, amenities blocks, a pool, spa and it's own outback style restaurant.
