Today we woke up to the distinct noise of Brolgas. There's a few that have made the caravan park their home. The caravan park is massive with lots of sites, amenities blocks, a pool, spa and it's own outback style restaurant. The caravan park is situated along a botanical walkway so this morning we walked into town, picked up some tourist info, had a wander up and down the main street. Went into the Kinnon & co shop which sells lots of outback australia type merchandise. We then headed back along the walkway pit stopping at the caravan park before heading to the Stockmans Hall of Fame alot of history and interesting stories. We then went to the QANTAS museum and had a look around - saw a 747 and the heritage listed hanger. Early afternoon we went for a drive to Lily Lagoon - although not the best time of year as there weren't alot of lillies, still a pretty spot. At 4.30 we were picked up and driven to the Thomson River. We did a sunset cruise on a restored paddlewheeler. When we returned to shore we had a drovers dinner (beef stew, apple pie, billy tea and damper), a campfire and were entertained by a bush poet - Scotty the barefoot poet was excellent. Was a great night!
