Today we travelled to Rainbow Beach to stay at Frasers on Rainbow Hostel with 'Tamber' to prepare ourselves for Fraser Island tomorrow. This is going to be our last few days together so what better way to end our amazing few weeks together!
Our first activity of the day was a safety briefing ready for Fraser - how to drive safely and how to avoid dingos. Goon and snacks were needed to ensure that our last few days reflected our time together so we went to do the family big shop.
Tonight's activity was going for a sunset walk to Carlo sand blow, we didn't realise the fun we were going to have! Sandboarding down massive dunes! After flying down in various ways, bailing out and climbing back up we went to watch the sunset. The views over the sea were awesome and we swear we saw sharks (or a school of fish circling). We wondered why the sand was different colours.... Maybe that's where 'RAINBOW BEACH' gets its name from! However we expected red and yellows and pink and green, orange and purple and blue....not just sandy and white! The only thing about walking through a national park to see the sunset is that you have to walk back in the dark! Phones out we checked for any wildlife in our paths, this is when you remember you are in Australia!
At night we condensed our big bags into a little one ready for Fraser! - We are getting so good at this light packing!!
On going to bed we had one.... A SNORER! Not what we needed before a big day, so with one look at each other the ear plugs came out and the iPod was at the ready! We will see how tonight goes!!
