Whitsunday's Wings Sailing boat is our hostel of choice for 3 days and 2 nights! Being warned about the 60km winds we braced ourselves for the mighty sail to Hooks Cove where we were to complete our first snorkel. What did we see?
.......Goats!
As the sea was churning the vision was pretty poor managing to only see some fish and coral. On ascent out of the water we noticed some mountain goats were observing our technique.
The skipper "G" (Italian stallion), wanted to moor up somewhere safe for the night. This meant a 2 hour sail through the night sky towards Whitsunday island. Unable to drink through rough conditions, once settled, the goon was flowing. G made a geno decampo-esque comic speech using a map and a spatula as his props. We understand this is one of those had to be there moments but definitely worth logging. An hour of hysterical laughing filled the catamaran!
Shortly after a passed out American girl had to be put to bed and once again some Germans made their mark by eating a lot again and complaining that the air con needs to be on because other wise it is too warm.... you are laid there with a fleece on with the hood up and 2 blankets on!!!
Going to bed was what we can only describe as a wave machine by way of movement and noise.
