So the bus journey......
Bus absolutely packed to the rafters and we are both sat at opposite ends of the coach. This means two things: We cannot sprawl all over each other in the all night strive for comfort and only one person gets the iPod (Matt of course).
First of the rules of traveling on a coach that should be common sense but this evidently doesn't seem the case.
Rules
- People are going to recline but is all the way back necessary.
- There is a boundary between you and the person next to you to preserve the minuscule amount of personal space provide on such transport.
- If you are touching the person next to you the boundary has been crossed. (Prepare to be kicked and verbally notified)
- Do not snore - Never snore in situation where you are sleeping amongst strangers! (If you are a snorer you deserve to be told how inconsiderate it is)
- No matter what the circumstances do not lean your head towards the person next to you and "nuzzle up", it's just not cool.
It's safe to be said that no rules were abided by by our passengers resulting in staring at the middle of the road for 7 hours listening to jazz music. Not bad for Matt but Char had the intermittent coach wifi to keep her entertained.
Thank the lord that we were able to check in at 8am as a few hours catch up were needed before exploring Airlie Beach. A walk round the quirky little town made us aware that from here northwards swimming in the sea is a no no due to then "deadly marine stingers!" So a day spent by the man made beach/lagoon gave us chance to recharge.
Matt finished his 2nd book - Keith Richards, Life. Proud of himself as it is like the size a house brick and the relief of not having it in the bags will be great! What will his next read be?!?!
Other news.....
Jeans were purchased for NZ.
