Sorry for no contact recently guys..here's why.
Wow so the blog hasn't been updated for over a week, for that I apologies, I am currently on a crazy road trip lasting about 2 weeks from Sydney to Brisbane.
So I had an amazing time in Sydney and I can't speak highly enough of the beautiful city of which I will return to, however having stayed at the blue parrot in kings cross I met some awesome people including: Swiss Simmone, French Tonguy and fellow English person Robbie. 3 of us set off in a somewhat small car with a tent on the roof, on the pacific highway. We had lots of places we wanted to stop in mind and had two weeks to see the sights and make our way to Brisbane on a limited budget. Because to those who haven't been let me tell you Australia drains a bank balance like no where else.
Day one - leaving Sydney was easy said than done, as I was to drive for the first time in an automatic car, everyone knows my driving is not the greatest at the best to times ( ants will have to give me some lessons) so this was a challenge but once on the highway things got a little easier. We stopped at an animal place where we could stroke kangaroos and koala bear which was awesome and the picture will follow. It was so lovely to see these animals up close and in their natural environment...incredible. Later we found a campsite where we could set up for the night and have the first of many pasta dinners washes down with lots of wine.
Day two - We spent lots of time on the highway driving to find a nice beach spot on the way to Newcastle. On the map we saw a place called Port Nelson which looked off the beaten track so we thought we should pay it a visit. The beach was incredible and we were even able to set the camper up for the night in a quite spot by the beach ( trying to avoid any wardens moving us on)
Day three - Waking up to the sound of the waves by the beach was lovely however, having no toilet, no shower or any electric was more tricky. As you know not being able to straighten my hair can be quit stressful for me. We spent day three driving north until we found a quite national park in diamond head, where we had dinner with the kangaroos, which was lovely as the sun set and we slept for the last night as a three in our small tent in the wilderness.
Day four - By now a cold shower on the beach In front of what feels like an audience has become the norm. My hair has not been dried or straightened since Sydney so that must be a record for me, and the curly haired look is becoming familiar. Today we drove to valla beach to pick up Robbie who had been staying with family, so the 3 became 4 , and the car was overloaded with our bags and as for sleeping in the tent...well It feels like sleeping in a match box. We had a great evening in valla beach as we found a quite spot by the beach and some guys from holland also camped with us, making our evening full of beer and laughter.
Road trip to be continued...I don't want to bore the pants off you all. Please comment though I like to know what you guys think, or just see if anyone actually reads it!
