This morning we waved goodbye to our new English friends and the campsite owner as we left and headed into Oamaru. We parked up and went to use the free internet in the library, before buying some postcards. Then we set off for Dunedin and the rugby!
We arrived at the campsite just after 3pm. Before that we drove into Dunedin town for a quick look around. We found the Octagon - the centre of town with lots of bars and restaurants and went to the I-Site where we booked a tour of Speight's Brewery (another brewery tour!) and Cadbury World on a combo ticket - a discounted price, which we like!
At the campsite, the place was packed full of vans and was a bit of a shock for us after weeks of staying in places where sometimes we were the only guests! It looks like everyone's here for the rugby - the place is swarming with other English and Irish people, and they've opened up an extra field to fit all the vans in!
After a nap, we went to watch South Africa v Fiji in the crowded TV room. South Africa were too much for the Fijians and they won 49-3. We went back to the van to cook a quick tea as it was freezing by this point! Then it was time for the next game - Australia v Ireland. This one was much more exciting - a good crowd in the TV room (including some excited Irish fans!) and Ireland produced the first shock of the tournament, winning 15-6!
After the match, we reluctantly headed back to the van for a night without power - it was going to be a chilly one...
