So we left Puerto Princessa at 11am on the 8th, and 3 flights later we arrived in Malang at 8am on the 9th.. And the only sleep I managed to get was apparently during take off on the 2nd flight.. Where I just remember being woken up by the flight attendant trying to wheel her trolley over my leg.. Then realising we had already been in the air about 15 minutes.. The next sleep I got was on the floor at Jakarta airport for an hour waiting to be let into the airport. Indonesia so far has been tiring!!
Ever since we set down in Jakarta airport we've had a lot off staring. Almost rivalling the staring in India. I swear we've already caused half a dozen accidents with people staring whilst driving, or over enthusiastically saying hello.
You can tell tourism hasn't really hit the Java island of Indonesia, there's no one constantly asking if you want a tuk tuk or motorbike which is refreshing, until you want to get anywhere.. Then it's tough. Also added by the lack of tourism is no one speaks any English here, so catching what little transport there is is tough, especially when they can't tell you a price in English and they just nod and say yes to every question, which is a big change from the Philippines where everyone learns English at school.
