Bali is by far the most touristy place I have visited by far. Soo many shops all the way along the beach area selling western clothes, McDonald's, KFC, surfing shops and bars as well.
After Kuta we travelled to Ubud which was more in land but still just as touristy.. Western shops, cafés and restaurants all down the main road, Bali looks like a holiday destination for Aussies! In Ubud we went to the monkey forest, a small section of the Forrest still untouched for the monkeys to roam around in. They're super cheeky! Jumping on people, stealing their bananas and stuff, one who jumped on my arm started biting my hand and fingers cause I didn't have any food for him.. It was carat to watch how a like they are to us. We found a group of baby monkey climbing up a dead branch overhanging a small pond.. Where they were just repeatedly jumping in and pushing each other off and running straight back up to do it again.. Just like children would. Not caring who was watching.!
We also rented out motorbikes and drove to Bali's Safari and Marine Park. We first waited for the parana feeding, where they dropped a whole chicken into this tank, it had no time to even go bellow water level and it was destroyed in less than 30 seconds.. All that remained were a few bones that sank to the bottom of the tank.
I really loved the range and number of different animals they had at the park from fish, to beautiful South American birds, eagles, elephants, tigers, lions; and my favourite.. Orangutans! The orangutans share 96% of our DNA and it's crazy how similar they are to us. They are super intelligent and love to be around other people. I want one! Another thing I was amazed by was how big the lions and tigers were. We saw A tiger show and when they were stood next to their trainers.. They were massive. Bigger than them.. No way would I be able to stand in with them. Their paws are bigger than my head! As part of our package we bought we got to go on a cool safari drive in a jeep through interlinking zones, from the crocodile enclosures, to zebra, hippo, orangutans, lion, tiger, giraffe and loads of others that I don't know the name of.. It reminded of the jeep ride we went on in Animal Kingdom Florida.
