Our cbh work doesn't actually start till the end of October so instead of waiting around in Australia cause it cost soo much, we decided to fly to Bali for £50 and spend £5 a night on accommodation, and of course cheap beers..! $2 instead of $12!

The weird thing was when we got to the airport and flew to Bali, went through immigration.. None of it felt weird. It felt like I was still backpacking! Being back makes me realise I have missed Asia, biking around, socialising in hostels and the food! Having street food, rice, noodle, fresh veg. And plenty of spices!

One thing I haven't missed is people trying to rip us off! Being in Asia for so long, you know how much stuff cost and when someone's taking the piss a bit! Well our taxi from Canggu to Ubud was a prime example. We told the driver the name and location of of our hostel and with the GPS app on our phone, even showed him the quickest route.. Well he started off by driving in completely the wrong direction... drove all the way south, to the east coast and the north.. instead of just driving north. I showed him hewas driving completly the wrong way and if he didnt go the right way we wouldnt pay. Sure enough he started going the right way. Now we estimated he added about 30 minutes to our drive and we were only going to pay him 80,000, which was an inflated price anyways. Well he tried to charge us 150,000 when we got there. So we gave him our money got out and walked straight into the hostel. And thats how its done in asia.
