Angkor Wat. One of the 7 wonders of the world. Temples built for the kings of their time which were left over the years, neglected and forgotten after the civil wars, where restoration has only recently taken place. The main Angkor Wat temple wasn't that impressive after seeing the white Ranakpur temple in India. In the end we decided to go to Koh Rong Saloem, koh Rongs neighbouring island. The more quiet an romantic island. The island only has generators on during the day and go off at 12. It also has no wifi and little in the way of entertainment besides reading your book and chilling on the beach.. Which we didn't mind! The island is nice to relax and chill on, spend some time away from wifi and the world. Although the beaches could be better if they were raked every now and again just to give them a once over. But when your sharing a mile stretch golden sand beach with 6 other people.. You can't complain. Today we went fishing with hooks line, a bag of squid, and a water bottle for a reel off the end of the pier. Managed to catch 7 reasonable sized fish we could keep and cooke...

We travelled to shunukville and met up with Malte who we met in Laos. He'd just returned from koh Rong the island just off the cost which co-incidentally was our next destination; and showed us some pretty bad bites and told us the island had a bed bug outbreak and he'd had to get a new bag and and clothes... The killing fields were pretty intense to say the least, visiting the mass graves of the Cambodian genocide, all due to one dictator imposing communism on the country.
