On the drive down from Kalbarri to servantas we stopped off at a viewpoint along the way, to look at the coastline, and within 2 minutes we saw a kangaroo and its baby joey and a mountain goat. As we were walking to the edge of the view point, and looked out over the sea, I made smart arse comment and said keep an eye out for whales... What luck... 2 humpback whales came up for air just off the coastline.. Then every 4/5 minutes they'd re-surface somewhere else. Just about managed to get a photo on the camera, but would've been amazing to get up close to them! Next stop was the pink lake.. Pink because of the algae grown and harvested there for dye. When we drove past, it actually looked like any other lake, blue and flat.! But when you actually stand right next to it, it has a pink layer through it.! We almost didn't go right up to it because of the number of flies there. Barely able to stand long enough to take a photo without being attacked! We legged it back to the car and had to drive with the windows open, politely banging them out the windows!

Our last stop was the pinnacles just south of Kalbarri, rock formations uncovered by wind and Forrest fires. Really wish I'd taken my sunglasses.! Soo bloody bright! The pinnacles were pretty cool. Bit of a tourist trap though, was funny messing around trying to get a cool photo. Jord planked on one.. And danny thought he'd try his luck at a hand stand against one.. Well it turns out he's not soo good at hand stands.. Just kinda just fell on it sideways. Plonker.
