I break boats. Apparently.
Friday I was scheduled for a chum trip. Cool. Then one of the engines on the boat didn't want to work. Got it going. Then the other engine didn't want to start.
Monday I was scheduled for tracking. A lovely 9 hour shift. On boat. And again we were delayed until 1pm because of engine problems. First one didn't want to work and then the other.
Yesterday I was scheduled for a chum trip again. Same engine problems. We had to come into the harbor on one engine because the other wouldn't start.
Today I was supposed to track. A lovely 12 hour shift that in all honesty, I was certainly not looking forward to. Mainly because this was my second time tracking and there are people that haven't had one trip that actually want to have the experience and are leaving on Saturday. But that ended up not mattering because we didn't even leave the harbor...literally didn't even get to untie the boat.
We got to the boat at a fantastic 6:15am and one of the engines wouldn't start. Eventually it turned over but it sounded awful. Some terrible screeching noise. So we can back to Boland and were told we would return at 8:30. Cool.
We got back at 8:30 to meet the mechanic and he said it didn't look promising. By 10:30 we were back again at Boland. Spark plugs had be changed but to no avail.
The only common denominator on all these trips is me.
Oops.
