After work Dennis had his Welcome-party at a restaurant/bar near his work. With 9 colleagues Dennis spent the evening drinking, talking, having snacks, laughing and learning new Japanese words that are not all that appropriate to use in daily life ;) When he came home in the evening, Michelle had just arrived too from her day of shopping.
Michelle did not stay home and get bored. She decided to go to Shibuya and grab some food there and do some shopping. When she arrived she first went to Tsutaya to listen to some music. There are always some nice decorated stands there were you can listen to the latest music releases. When finished, she even bought an album of a newly discovered artist (Amazarashi). Afterwards she went to one of those fast-food gyudon restaurants. She had a great laugh because this place was filled with men and were clearly not used to a visitor from a foreign woman all by herself. You had to shove another guy to sit down and it was quite enjoying to see how everyone reacted. After that she just browsed some shops and tried some new streets and of course went to one of her favorite stores, Book Off, to look for some cd's of artists she saw on television. She did not leave empty handed here of course! To get a little pause of all the shopping, she went to Starbucks to get her favorite beverage there, a Caramel Delight, and try to listen to one of the many conversations to see if she could understand. Some topics were still too difficult but some were very easy, good to know! While shopping Michelle was surprised how many foreign guys just greeted her out of nowhere. It is a real difference if you are alone or not, they must be single :)
On her way back there was a band playing (Yuya Tanaka) on the street near the station and she stopped to hear them because they were quite good. Of course a foreign black-guy was trying to get her attention but she pretended not to speak English this time, she really did not want to miss the performance of the show. Luckily he was gone fast... After the show she bought the CD of the band and even had a small conversation with the band in Japanese. They were clearly very happy with their new fan from Holland. Afterwards she continued her way back home and when walking the last part even discovered a new 2nd hand shop were she found some of the recently released albums for very cheap! She just arrived a couple of minutes earlier than Dennis when she got home. Good timing!

René So, Dennis, how is communicating at work getting along? All in English or part English part Japanse?
