Jeez I haven't written on here for ages!!

When we got back from Bali we went to Aussie Jobs and they said they had a job for us up north in Monkey Mia, which is a dolphin resort!Jen and I were a bit dubious at first because we didn't no if we'd miss out on anything on the way up but we were told that we wouldn't so we thought why not we might aswell go up there!The job was working in the restaurant in the resort as waitresses!
Aussie Jobs told us that we might even go on the Monday, it was Friday that we went in, or the following Friday.

On the night we got back from Bali Gillian came up to visit us.We went out for dinner then back to our hostel for drinks then me and Gillian met some people in the hostel and went out with them.We then randomly meet some aussie guys on the street so we all went out together.We went to an Irish bar first which was really good, Gillian had told the guys that it was my birthday a few days before so they all sang to me! Then we went to another bar/club and had a dance, I was really tired but managed to stay out until about 3am!!!

On the Saturday Jen and I went shopping to get shirts, shoes and trousers for the new job!It was very exciting!I then decided to get a tattoo!!! Yep really!I've kinda wanted one for ages but wanted to be able to just go straight in and get one and not have to make an appointment, so we went in to one place and they said if you find us a design we can do it now for you!!So I went on the internet and found a design of a horse shoe that I liked, printed it off and off I went back to the tattooist!!I was really nervous, I decided on the horse shoe on my right foot.I was holding a bottle of water and kept biting the lid cos of the pain, it actually didn't hurt as much as I thought it would.Jen watched me have it done and took pictures.It didn't take long to do about 20 mintues.I really liked it but thought it was missing something.I'd said before that I'd like to get the horse shoe for Pebbles and paw prints for Pepsi.I was talking to Stuart and said about getting the paw prints on the other foot then I thought it would look nicer next to the horse shoe so I went back the next day and got two paw prints next to my horse shoe! Now it was complete! I love it, it looks really good and means a lot to me.I don't think I'll have anymore though as I don't know what I'd have and where so I'll just stick to what I've got!!

We really wanted to go to MargaretRiver so we decided to book a day trip down there, or so we thought!!We weren't getting picked up until 10 which we thought was pretty late to be going to MargaretRiver.The trip ended up being just a trip around the wineries in the SwanValley!!When we booked it the girl mentioned about wineries and I said I don't drink wine but if it gets us to Margaret River then I'll do it so god know's why she sent us on this trip!! It was a fun day but not what we wanted to do!When we got back I rang Peterpans who we booked it through and complained to them they said they will sort us out with discount on another trip we do!!

I had a call during that week from Monkey Mia saying that they were trying to get us on the bus on the Wednesday if we could go up then, which was fine by us then heard nothing from them until the Thursday and they asked if we could come the next day so we had to book the Greyhound bus to get us to a Roadhouse called Overlander then we would be picked up by someone there.

So we booked it to go up on the Friday.It was a long day as the Greyhound took 10 hours to get to Overlander!!We were so tired and hungry when we got here.Luckily we were given a pizza.We were shown to the restaurant and asked who had the most experience which was me and I was told that I'd be working at 7.30 the next morning! I wasn't impressed!!We were put in a really nice room overlooking the sea, we had ensuite, a tv and 2 single beds, it wasn't to be our room for long though!

So the next morning I went to work.It was really good, the restaurant overlooks the sea so I got to see dolphins as I worked, the work was pretty easy.Debbie one of the girls showed Jen and I around after work and we had lunch together in the Monkey bar, we get $6 meals, which is pretty good.

We got our first rota a few days later and we tend to do split shifts so you'd work 7-12 then be back in at 6-close! Or you do an afternoon shift which was 1-close with an hours break at 5.30.I don't really like doing the afternoon shift because you do it on your own and all you have to do is clean as it is not normally very busy.After a few days we were put in to new accommodation we have donga's which are little hut type things, mine and Jen's are next to each other and have a bathroom in the middle!We have a double bed, wardrobe, fridge and sink! Its pretty cool, we pay $42.50 a week and it comes straight out of our wages.

Since being here I have met someone!!An Australian guy called Jack! He works here too, he works in reception. I met him in my second week.We just hit it off straight away and got on really well!I went round his house, well caravan!, and watched a film one night and we haven't really been apart since!!I went round there once and he had to go to work so left me there while I was finishing off a film and he locked me in!!He actually did it twice!!Then one morning he had set his alarm for me as I had work at 7 and when his alarm went off I really didn't want to get up as I was so tired but I got up and ready for work then when I opened the door it was really dark and I said to Jack its too dark to be 7 so I looked at my watch and it said 1.30!! I had no idea what the time was so I made Jack get out of bed and walk me to the restaurant!!It was closed!It was 1.30am, I was not impressed!!!

Monkey Mia is a really nice place and I get to see Dolphins everyday which is a bonus.I have seen lots of people I have met along the way up here! Its really strange didn't realise I knew so many people!!There's lots to do up here.One day a few of us girls went out on a boat called the Shotover.We were out for 4 hours and saw dolphins and turtles.We took a bottle of champagne and chocolate cake!It was a really nice day.It went a bit cold for a while but it is getting nice and warm again now so I am gonna start sunbathing again and topping up my tan!!

Jack and I went out on a 4 wheel drive trip the other week, it took you around FrancoisPeronNational Park.It was amazing the scenery was beautiful.We had lunch at a place called Skipjack Point which overlooked the sea and we saw sharks, stingrays, turtles and dolphins it was amazing! It was such a good day we were gone from 9am until 6pm I was so tired when we got back.

We hired out a glass bottom boat one day too but we didn't see any animals.We haven't had to pay for any of the trips we've done because all the tour operators look after the people who work in reception.There is a scenic flight you can do so I really want to do that before I leave too!

I do really like it here but some people are really starting to get on my nervous and I just tend to keep myself to myself now and spend all my time with Jack.Because it is so small here there is lots of gossip and everyone knows everything about everyone!There's been a few times where I've just wanted to walk out of the restaurant and I've been in tears a few times, Jack said I should get a job in another department but I really like meeting all the guests while working in the restaurant.We get really good tips in the restaurant too!We count our tips every 2 weeks and one week we got just over $60.I have been saving my tips to buy myself a new ipod I'm nearly there just need another $50 or so!

I have also just bought myself a laptop!!Its really hard to get on the internet here so as we can claim our tax back I thought I'd treat myself to a laptop with the money so I bought myself a pink Dell 10inch notebook!!Its great I love it.The internet is really cheap too!I have an internet stick that I top up.Jack topped it up with $20 when I got it and it is still there after a week and I have used the internet loads and been on skype!!

Well I think that is all for now!!Now I have the laptop I can update my blog more often!!x
