Hello!!

Well I am now working in Boyup Brook in Western Australia, its about 2 hours South of Perth! I've been here for about 4 weeks now!! Its going really well. When I first got here it was like a ghost town and the pub weren't expecting me as the landlord hadn't told anyone I was coming, he spends most of his time in Perth!! Anyway I got settled in and have my own bedroom with a double and single bed, and a tv!! Its pretty cool Its nice to have my own space! I was really nervous at first because i've never worked in a pub before but i picked it up pretty quickly and all the locals are really nice. we have a TAB betting machine in the pub as well which is really easy to use, the customer puts their ticket in the machine and if there is an arrow facing down they give you the amount it says on the screen if the arrow faces up you give them the money! easy peasey! I only get $10 an hour but get free food and accomodation so i'm not really spending my money on anything apart from going to the swimming pool or internet! I get tips as well and tend to live off of them, i actually got a $100 tip the other day! A guy asked me to put his tickets in the TAB and said if they win he will go thirds with me, the tickets didnt win they he said the same again and won about $400 so he gave me $100 that was more than what i earnt that day! most of the people that live in this town are sheep shearers and one of the locals took us to watch it the other day! it was horrible! one of the shearers cut the sheeps eye! It was cool to say we've seen it though. There is so much drama in this town its worse than Eastenders!! I was only going to stay here for 6 weeks but think i will stay til the begining of May now when i go to bali!! woo hoo. There is another backpacker Gillian here who has been here nearly a year as she has a boyfriend here and she has a car so often takes us out to different places which is good. Jen also works here. I got the job through an agecny in Perth and when i was there i said that i had a friend coming in a week if she'd be able to get a job too and they said yes so shes been here about 3 weeks now.

I was in Perth for about a week before I came to Boyup. I really liked Perth, theres lots to do and lots of shopping! I went to Freemantle for the day and went to the prison which was really interesting i learnt a lot about all the differnt ways people tried to escape! One night I went up to Kings Park which over looks the CIty and is amazing! I went with some girls from my room and the Beach Boys were playing so we watched through the fence! it was cool.

I could write so much more but i'll leave it at that for now, wil update again soon xx
