Well I only have 2 weeks of work left at Monkey Mia!! Woo hoo I'll be sad to leave Monkey Mia but not the Restaurant!!
I'm heading to Perth then flying to Alice Springs and doing a trip up to Darwin which i'm really excited about. Then Jack will meet me in Darwin and we will drive down the west coast together!! i'm so looking forward to travelling again all I seem to have done this year is work!!
Jack and I went to the beach one day to sunbath but we just kept walking as the tide was really far out and we saw some rays they were really close to us, we also saw some shovel nose sharks, well they are more like rays but people call them sharks!! There was loads of them then Jack saw a shark!! I was well scared it was only a reef shark though one swam over Jacks foot!! I wanted a picture with one so I was trying to get close but when it started to swim towards me I got really scared and my heart missed a beat! It was a really good afternoon though and we got some really good pictures. That evening Nic, who works in reception came round and was organising for reception to go to the hot tub which is in the National Park so Jack and I went with Nic and a few of the girls from reception, I thought it was gonna be really cold when we got out but I was boiling! We were the only ones in the hot tub to begin with but then a few people from Denham arrived, it was dark though so we didnt no who they were! We all introduced ourselves to each other and I knew one of the guys, he's a bus driver that comes to the restaurant of a morning.
Theres a little boy in Denham called Indie who has cystic Fybrois and his mum and some friends are doing lots of fund raising events to raise money for him. One of these was a sunset boat cruise in Denham it was $50 a ticket and we went out on the boat for about 2 hours and had food and drink on the boat. They were selling roses on the boat as most kids who have CF cant say it so they say 65 roses!! The roses were $50 and had gift vouchers attached. Jack got me one and we got a $50 vouchure for The Old Pearler in Denham which is a really nice restaurant. We haven't been there yet, but we will prob go in my last week.
They did another fundraiser which was a Faulty Towers evening! It was at the Bowling Club in Denham. When we got there no one knew what was going on as the doors were locked and there were bin bags outside then 'Basil' and 'Manwell' arrived and they were arguing about why the bags were there and they were trowing them at people to get rid of them. Then they couldn't find the key to the door so they were lifting people through the window! It was so funny. We got in and Jack and I were sat with Kelly who works in reception and a couple from Denham. Our table was right next to the bar!! We had a 4 course meal which was really nice. Throughout the evening Basil and Manwell were acting things out with everyone, it was as if we were actually guests at Faulty Towers. If people were leaving thier seats to go to the toilet they chair was being taken and replaced with something else. Jack went to the toilet and they took his chair and replaced it with an esky!! It was really funny. I went and thought i'd got away with it as my chair was still there but I noticed people looking at me and Nic had his camera pointing at me! Then as I was walking to my chair Basil appeared behind me with a bra, swinging it around saying that it belonged to me! It was so embarrasing! I sat down and he put the bra on me! Then because the straps were really big he picked me up by them and walked me round the room!!!! I was crying with laughter. It was a really fun evening! It was filmed and they are selling copies of it so I wil def be buying it!!
On my last few days off I have been going down to the dolphin feeding and I got to fed a dolphin!! Its def a highlight of being in Monkey Mia!! I was really happy.
Jack and I did a little photo shoot one day too!! Nic rang and asked if we'd pose for some pictures in one of the rooms as they had just been refurbished!! It was great fun and the pictures turned out really well. Were not sure if they will get used for anything but at least we have some nice pictures of us!!
Well like I say only 2 weeks left of work!! Then off to finish my travels and then only 2 and a half months til Mum and Terry will be here!! I'm super super excited about them coming out and have so much planned. Me and Mum are going to Sydney Opera House to see The Nutcracker Ballet! Then have 2 days shopping in Sydney!!! woo hoo.
Right thats all for now xx
