On Tuesday, 23 June we woke up to a massive storm - rain, lightening and thunder. We were snug in our bed and just stayed there until it had passed. It was amazing to hear the thunder roll in, do it's thing above us , and then roll on. It was our last day in Tulum and it had been set aside as another lazy beach so it wasn't a big deal that we got a bit of a late start. We packed up and checked out our room, dropped off some laundry and returned our bikes - oh yes, we were taking a taxi to the beach is time. Can you hear the angels singing? Back to our Beach Bar we went and everything we did yesterday, we did again. It's not often you feel that you don't have a care in the world but today, I did - especially since I didn't have to cycle home! :) Our taxi dropped us at the laundry to grab our clothes. R60 for all our clothes to be cleaned, dried and folded - I tell you, it's the small things! We said our goodbyes to Harmony Glamping and headed to the bus station. We stopped for giant juices (just so we could test out the Bus toilets at some point during our 12 hours on the bus... more of that to come) some enchiladas and some pork tacos. We had a stack of food. get us through the night on the bus but then we found out we couldn't take food on the bus. You've never seen two gringos eat so fast in their lives. We ate as much as we could and then hopped on the bus. The buses in Mexico are quite fancy but unless you book a direct bus you land up stopping at a load of places along the way. That is unfortunately what happened to us - bright lights switched on at each place we stopped at, we assume to force you awake so that you don't miss your stop. This teamed with the movies with Spanish voice overs blasted through the bus back-to-back until around 00:00/ 01:00 didn't make for a very comfortable journey.
