The bus journey from Santiago to San Pedro was long and horrible. The bus barely stopped, we were only given a few snacks and the toilet was disgusting to the point of being unusable. The trip to Santiago was inturrupted for about an hour while we crossed the border. The border control is right in the Andes and while the view is spectacular, it is also freezing!
