Kevin and Joannie on tour
As daylight came we started to fly over the Andes and could see a snow topped volcano. Soon after the descent in to Santiago began. We caught a cab to our apartment in Bellavista, just off Pio Nono and near the funicular railway up to San Cristobal. All went well until the cleaner turned up and thought we were the previous night's guests. After some debate, we spoke with the owner on the phone and the confusion was cleared up. We had booked a table at El Heurto, a vegetarian restaurant which we first visited on our honeymoon. Back then it was a deserted and slightly rustic place with half of the dishes on the menu unavailable. Now it's the place to go for Ladies who Lunch and is rated as one of the top 25 veggie restaurants in the world. We were glad we made a reservation as there was quite a queue. Tired and a little tipsy we returned to our apartment for a lie down before, in theory, going out again in the evening. Several hours later we awoke to find it was nearly midnight and then fell back asleep till dawn.
