We got up early for a Saturday and dropped off the Meezers and JB at their respective 5 star all-inclusive resorts. We had plenty of time to get to Heathrow which was lucky as we were held up for over half an hour with a crash on the M1. We left our car at Purple Parking and caught their minibus to Terminal 5. We were a little too early to check-in so we had the first holiday beer and wine. Once through security we had a meal before taking off to Madrid. That journey was relatively quick. The changeover at Madrid went smoothly and we began the long haul to Santiago. Joan was overjoyed that one of the in-flight videos was Take That in concert. The airline food was uninspiring: salad and fruit for dinner. Salad and fruit for breakfast.
