Kevin and Joannie on tour
Our final day on Easter Island…. Honest! On the whole the day was uneventful. The plane flew to Santiago in the early evening so we kind of felt that we were hanging about. There had been some heavy rain showers overnight and the air smelt of the damp earth.
After breakfast we walked in to town and visited an internet café where we emailed our next cabanas and the car hire company about our arrival times. We walked down to the front and we pleased to see a couple of turtles again bobbing in and out the waves in one of the swimming pools on the beach. Joan even managed to get a picture of one of their heads when it popped up momentarily. We called in to the Pea Restaurant for a drink and could see some much younger and smaller turtles diving around.
Back at the cabana, we packed our things and waited until Oscar ran us to the airport. We were presented with shell necklaces before joining the not very long queue. The waiting lounge was the only one we have seen which is outside. We passed the time with an island brewed beer before take-off.
