Thursday 23rd July This morning we went back to Soho to go to the Liberty shop. Col had suggested to Jan that it is a not to be missed place for ladies to visit. We got the tube from Lancaster gate to Oxford Circus and walked a short distance to Carnaby Street. We got there way too early as the shops don't open until 10.00am so went to see if we could get a good coffee at a place called Department of Coffee and Social Affairs. Good choice.
We walked the length of Carnaby Street afterwards and there were a few shops opening so looked in a few before heading back to Liberty.
Liberty is an old building of 4 or 5 floors and the inside is done beautifully in big oak beams and the displays are wonderful. There was more material, wool, threads, buttons than I have ever seen. All very quaint and wonderfully expensive.
After we had finished browsing we walked the length of Regent Street to find another tube station.
