Saturday 29th August - Murano

Jane & Paul arrived about 4.30pm and have a big bedroom and we complained about ours to Paulo the worker whom we checked in with and he offered to shift us the next day but was too much hassle so we just stayed put for one more night.

Last time we were in Venice we went to the island of Barano, which is the "Lace Island" but we hadn't been to Murano which is the "Glass Island"
We went down to the ferry stop and bought tickets for one way at €5 each but couldn't buy return ones. Got off 2nd stop.
We immediately turned left and went to a "Furnace", a place that actually makes the glass objects. Well it was too hot and had to get out of there but not before we saw a fellow make a glass horse.

There are glass shops everywhere and all selling the same sort of stuff although the better quality ones had the most magnificent chandeliers.

We stopped and had a coffee at a canal side cafe. Good coffee, cool breezes.
