Wednesday 2nd September - Roof garden
We had a nice lunch, sandwiches and a beer. Wished that people wouldn't smoke when they are eating! Sat and chatted and waited for 2.00pm to come round.
Almost got sick of waiting and got up to go and the doors of the Cripta Responi opened and in we went. The building used to be the home of some famous people and now is open to the tourists that flock to Ravenna to see the mosaics.
The garden was lovely and the fountain in the middle very ornate. Nearby was the tomb of Dante Alighieri and Lord Byron also had an affinity with Ravenna.
The crypt was dating back to the 18th century and the roof garden gave a view over the city.
We finished and headed back to the boat on the shuttle. Back through the x-rays and we headed for the pool on level 10.
We had pre-dinner drinks on level 4 and had a chat with Anne and Jenny who were Poms but now lived in Perth. Anne had spent the day in the ships hospital with a chest infection.
Dinner on floor 5 and as usual we had the same table and he same waiters. The food was again wonderful. We met a couple from New York that played the game and to most of their travel for free depending on what credit card they used.
Bed and another lovely day.
