Wednesday 2nd September - Ravenna
The ship docked in the port of Corsini at 7.00am and although you could sense that the ship had stopped there was not a bump against the wharf or anything else to tell you we were there.
We had purchased a shuttle bus ticket from the ship for €22 each return and after breakfast we headed downstairs and out onto the wharf to catch the bus into Ravenna only to discover that I had forgotten my sunglasses.
So back I traipsed through the security and x-ray scanners and back to the cabin to pick up the said item.
Our bus took us through the large industrial centre that sustains the local economy, this included petrol gas and oil refinery, a large chemical plant, cement and fertiliser plants and is serviced by a new shipping canal that enables ships to come right into the heart of the industrial area.
Central Ravenna is quiet, with more bikes than cars and a large pedestrian friendly area. Nothing was open as we were somewhat early so we stopped for a coffee.
