We boarded the Louis Olympia about 10am and were underway at 11am. We have quite a nice cabin on Level 6 with a window facing forward. Kalambaka is located at the base of some incredible rock formations...high minarets of rock, the tops of which were chosen 500 years ago to be the locations of over 20 monasteries. Originally, they were totally secluded and the only access for the monks was via ropes and ladders! I had no idea what to expect at Delphi so I was a bit surprised how much there was to see. It's very high up on a steep mountainside and was a sacred place in Ancient Greece. It is mostly famous for The Oracle of Delphi who people would question about the future. We started the day with a stop at Epidaurus where there was a museum celebrating the beginning of medicine. Ancient people used to visit priests here to be cured of illnesses and eventually the priests became the first doctors. One of these was Hypocrites.
