Yesterday we met up with our friends Chook, Nat and the kids at Innot Hot Springs and then we headed in convoy to Mount Surprise. Our intention was to keep driving to Georgetown and visit Cobbold Gorge which is about 90km south of Georgetown, but unfortunately the Gorge tour was $75 per person which was way out of our budget and it is not possible to see the Gorge without going on a tour! Plan B was to stay at Mount Surprise at the Bedrock Caravan Park for the night. So plan B it was. The Bedrock Caravan Park is lovely with exceptional amenities, great pool, and they put on dinner with a camp fire every night for $18 a head, but you need to be quick to book a place, unfortunately we missed out. This morning Chook and Nat decided to head south to Charters Towers and we continued on to Normanton and Karumba.
