Rome
Well here we are in Rome. Another busy city. Temperature in the 30s. Getting hotter as we head along on our journeys. First we went to the square Piazza Navona. There are artists all over the square with there paintings. They have entertainment here all the time which locals and tourists watch for free. Magicians, singers etc and alot of mime artists. It has got 3 fantastic fountains situated in it. They were nothing compared to the mother of all fountains though. The Trevii fountain. What a fantastic fountain. You could hardly move there with the amount of people surrounding it. The next day onto the vatican and sistine chapel. We went straight in as you do with a tour group. You should of seen the que lined up outside to get in , in the heat of the day. They que up for hours on end.The artitechture and paintings of Michael Angelo were fantastic. How he made the paintings come alive. What is a flat roof looked rounded. It took 4 years to complete his work. It took him up too a year after just to see properly as he was so used to his eyes looking up.What a fantastic fete. Well worth going to see. In St Peters basilica you see amazing sights as well but the 1 I thought interesting (half yucky) was a glass coffin with 1 of the previous popes inside. It is actually him laid out with a mask for his face exactly like he had looked. The rest was def him (spooky). The colleseum. Wow. What can I say. A remarkable structure. Alot bigger than I tought it would be. You could visualise exactly how it was in the old days. Last of all we visited the Spanish Steps. People everywhere. All over a brilliant city to visit. We had a lovely meal in a restarant with a musician to entertain us. When the sun went lowe rthey opened up the roof. You felt like you were outside.
