Cairo , luxor. aswan and abul simbel
EGYPT
Sand, sand and more sand. Says it all. When you fly into Cairo that is what you see. Didn't realise it was such a big city.. It looks dirty because buildings are all drab and the sand and rubbish. Alot of fog/smog here. Not clean at all. We visitd the Cairo museum first, was amazing. What came out of the tombs and how the kings lived. Some amazing stories. When we drove there it was through the poor area. You see people driving horses and donkeys in among the cars. They drive crazy over here as well. Three lanes seem to become one etc. There is alot of army to be seen with the guns everywhere. The hotel we are staying at the moment is fantastic. Best yet for service etc. The next one at the end of the tour is closer to the square where the riots were. You can see where the buildings were torched in the revolution. Scary. Also talk about being mobbed by the people tryng to sell you stuff. They don't take no for an answer either. Very persistant. we have visited a Mosque. Very impressive. The next day we flew to Luxor and have visited an amazing temple of Karnach. Learnt how they made the pyramids. (Our secret.) 45 degrees . Struggled. Finished the tour at lunch time and did nothing else to 5 o'clock. To hot. Its like walking into a sauna. No joke. We have arrived on our cruise ship. 5 star and looks inside titanic. Going to be fun. We are cruising down the nile seeing a different side of life in egypt. Passing sugar cane plantations, people fishing and kids, donkeys and the poor side of things once more. Very relaxing watching life go on. We are so LUCKY. Feel very sorry for the people we see from here. Very poor and living coditions no good. Don't realise how lucky you are till you go away from home. We have visitd several temples including Valley of the Kings. Have had a ride on a Feluca and have visited a Nubian Village. Got welcomed into a house there if you can call it a house to have a look around. Got welcomed by the friendly people with a mint tea. Very friendly quiet people. Didn't get hassled at all. They are very poor. 47 degrees today. Our final temple was Abul Simbal. What a great way to finish looking at the temples. It was amazing. Last of all , thec best at the finiish we visited the pyramids and the sphinx. You really feel like you have been to Egypt when see them. Had a camel ride to finish with. Well buy, buy Egypt. Bring on Europe. Hopefully not as many crazy drivers or rubbish lying around.
