Kate's Chronicles
We have finished teaching for another quarter......my final classes of Intermediate students !!!!. Exams done, papers marked........only 2 of my students passed which was actually better than I expected. It has been a crammed 8 weeks with extra classes and we are all exhausted. The students will now go off and do their military training.
In our extra hours we ran a "charity bash" where our students selected a local charity and ran a stall to raise money for their chosen charity. All the students got actively involved in the project and we were really pleased with their efforts. Lots of teachers and students came along to the stalls and supported our students. It was amazing the level of creativity they demonstrated as it certainly is not evident in our usual classes. They had crafts, games, food and drinks....we even had one group doing manicures!!!!
It is a bittersweet time now as we start the rounds of farewells to so many people. It feels odd to think our group arrived nearly 12 months ago...all complete strangers....but we have developed some great friendships. Most of our group are moving on but some have re-signed for another year. But that is the nature of our style of work. Thank goodness for social media so we can all keep in touch and see what everyone ends up doing.
Last night we had our Intermediate level dinner in town......those of us who have made it to the end. We ended up being joined by some other teachers and many a toast was given. Many people are heading off on holidays this weekend so it is going to be exceptionally quiet for those of us who are left.....I am still not sure how many of us will actually be working!!!!
Anyway enjoy all my photos......I am sure they say more than I can put into words.
Bye for now. xx
