I've decided it'd be a good idea to write down everything about the hostels so I can remember where I stayed and whether I liked it!
Hostel Review #1
Generator London
101GBP each for 4 nights
10 bed dorm. Clean dorms & pretty good beds. Very warm though, we were a level below ground. Lockers were big lockable cages that rolled underneath the bed, big enough for our packs and daypacks too. The bathrooms were also pretty good, a few of the showers just had boiling hot water though, which isn't easy to shower in.
Breakfast was average & expensive for what you got. They had cereal, juices, and then rolls with either jam or a selection of ham cheese tomato and cucumber. Not even toast :(
Free wifi available in the common areas, fairly good connection most of the time.
They had a bar, but with lame activities most nights. And no one else is allowed in the hostel so it wasn't the busiest. But we still had a decent night there. It was about a 5 minute walk to Russell square underground station, very close! And a few good restaurants close by. We walked to Leicester square and piccadilly circus most days which probably took just over half an hour. So decent location!
It was pretty much just what we needed :)
