London! Here we go again...
We arrived in on Friday at about 6pm after a long day on the bus. We then had another hour or so on trains to get to Malaika's friend Yann's house. We stayed with his parents in Rome, he was Malaika's exchange student a few years ago and now lives in London studying. We met his housemates- another 4 boys- and had dinner before an early night.
Sunday we went to a day club in Clapham Junction, one where you dress up (hence the onesies) with a few people we've met on our travels. We then moved onto the Walkabout- filled with Australians- in Shepherds Bush, before going home at about 10.30pm.
Monday we woke up, got ourselves organised and headed into London. We went to Kings Cross to see platform 9 & 3/4, then onto covent garden for a wander. We had high tea in Covent Garden at Kingsway Hall Hotel. Beautiful place! I had strawberry & mango tea, then good old English Breakfast. We each got four little sandwiches- salmon & cream cheese, cucumber, ham & mustard mayonnaise, and egg & mustard cress, delish! Following that we had a fruit scone and a plain scone each, and then a selection of little desserts- macarons, coffee eclair, fruit tart, and a peanut slice. Amazing afternoon tea! Feeling more than satisfied we jumped back on the tube and headed home! That evening we made burritos for the household and all had a few quiet drinks together.
Tuesday we went for a look at Yann's uni- Royal Holloway. It has a beautiful old founders building where we had lunch before leaving him to study and heading home. That evening we had our Busabout reunion party in London. We headed to the Octoberfest Pub, dressed as Pumpkins for halloween, and met up with people we'd met throughout our travels. Afterwards we headed to a nearby pub, and then stayed at a friends as the trains stop before midnight.
Wednesday was Malaikas birthday. We eventually headed back to Yann's. We made tacos for dinner, Malaikas been hanging out for them this whole trip! We then had cake, and went to a Halloween party for a little before having a well needed sleep!
Thursday we headed into London. We spent hours walking around the Camden Market. I didn't realise how huge it is! It's amazing. We got some decent souvenirs, had some delicious market food, and headed in towards the London eye & Big Ben. We got our tourist fix, wandered around, before heading to Piccadilly circus for a walk around there too. London's incredibly busy right now so we headed home for dinner at about 8pm.
Friday we had an early morning, and jumped on the train.
Next stop, Sheffield!
