Milan! We arrived into Milan at about 2pm Wednesday and finally met up with Malaika- my new travel friend for the next few months. It was so so hot in Milan and our hostel was even warmer than outside. We had a fairly relaxed afternoon before heading into the city to meet up with Tom- a friend from Croatia sailing. Florence! The first night we arrived we went on an orientation tour, saw the stunning duomo and the main sights- including Michelangelo's David (well the copy, the real ones inside the museum). We went to a leather demonstration and had the chance to buy real leather- I'm too cheap for that though! And then went on to have a four course Italian dinner. Rome! We arrived back into Rome on Sunday evening and found ourselves upgraded once again. We bumped into Aleesha- who we met way back in Bruges & Amsterdam! So spent the evening catching up with her. Unfortunately we only had one day in Rome, so we spent Monday doing the tourist sights and wandering around. Italian adventure! We flew into our pick up point- Rome- on the Thursday evening, arrived at our accommodation and to our pleasant surprise were upgraded to a cabin with ensuite and airconditioning, opposed to a permanent tent, lovely! We were on the bus until about 1pm before arriving in Ancona, Italy. It's pretty much just a port town, there's nothing of interest there apart from the ferries to beautiful places. We went and checked into our ferry, spent a few hours waiting in the check in area using the wifi before heading down to our ferry to Split, Croatia.
